1ST Thursdays: Dancing Freedom with Sarah Peller
Dancing Freedom is a form of conscious dance that uses movement, the elements, the music and the other movers around us to make personal enquiries and tune into our deeper selves. It is a dance of community. We create a sacred space to support ourselves and each other to be who we truly are. Each dance will cover a theme that the group can set a collective intention towards exploring individually and together. The music follows the elemental wave of earth, water, fire, air and ether. This wave creates a progressive energy that holds us in a beginning, middle and ending. We take time to also share our experience with our community, be witnessed, and share our breakthroughs with another. This dance form can be a profound and glorious journey into self awareness and discovery and create beautiful bonds of community with other movers.
Sarah Peller trained with the founder for Dancing Freedom 3 years ago. She was moved by the depth of this work and has brought the practice back to Port Townsend. She is a graphic designer, a lover of (almost) all dance styles, an avid cyclist, DJ and artist. Her love for dance started at Madrona MindBody 6 years ago when she first stepped foot into a Nia class. She deeply believes that thriving community can be created through sharing the joy of dance with others.

4th Thursdays: ecstatic flow with Amy Priest
Nourish your soul with movement as medicine. Immerse yourself in radiant rhythms and surrender to the flow of bliss. Let your body speak in its native tongue. Expanding on a foundation of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms, we’ll set a safe container for deep dives, allowing for expressions both subtle and intense. Arrive to gentle tones for stretching and warm-up, then a brief opening circle sets the intention for a smooth, full wave of evocative music—Emerging, Flowing, Pulsing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Heartfelt, and Stillness— and ending with a simple closing to honor your journey.
Amy has been dancing for self expression and personal healing as long as she can remember, beginning as child when she danced to TV show theme music in her living room, to her teens when she staked out a corner of the gym at the high school dances. In 1996 she finally found a room full of other people dancing like her—Austin Body Choir—where she learned about ecstatic dance, community, and Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms for over 16 years. In 2007 she began facilitating her own ecstatic dance groups and continued this inquiry in her Master of Fine Arts practicum work in Port Townsend in 2012. As a soul purpose coach, she supports people to break out of life ruts, move past creative blocks, pursue their passions, and live in ecstatic alignment with their authentic selves.
