What materials will we be using?
All texts and materials are included in the price of tuition. The curriculum is highly eclectic and draws from many traditions. Material will be presented in a variety of formats to support multiple learning styles and perspectives. The material for nutrition studies is inspired by leaders in the field of evidenced-based nutrition such as Michael Greger, MD, FACLM, Joel Fuhrman, MD, and Registered Dietitian, Brenda Davis, RD.
Body and Earth: an Experiential Guide and/or Body Stories by Andrea Olsen and Caryn McHose, will be used as a somatic education texts. Somatic education classes will include experiential exercises, demonstration, and hands-on instruction.
Students will have access to a password protected student resources page with additional information and website links to all supplemental resources.
When do the classes meet?
Classes meet in person one day per month. Weekly reading assignments are given through email or online platform.
When does the next program start?
The next program begins October 2018, and meets the 3rd Thursday of each month, from 9:00-12:00, at Madrona MindBody.
Cost of the Program
The Cost of the 6-month program is $895. Enroll by October 5th to qualify for a $100 discount. Upon acceptance of your application, a $200 non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve your space in the program. You may choose to pay the remaining balance, in monthly installments of $99 by cash or check in class; or make subscription payments using your credit card or PayPal account.

Shanon Leonard, RN, NSHC, is an experienced health educator offering unmatched enthusiasm, expertise, and a uniquely broad perspective. She has been teaching classes and presenting workshops around the Pacific Northwest since 1998.
She holds degrees in humanities and nursing with additional course work in psychology and nutrition. She also holds certificates in yoga and Thai bodywork and has completed the rigorous national certification with NSHC as an RN health coach.
In addition to her workshop schedule, she teaches anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology at the Port Townsend School of Massage. She is the mother of two children and one unusually fit Basset hound.
